How your records are kept safe

Your phone holds the record

Everything you enter is written into the app’s own storage on your phone, which Android keeps separate from other apps.

You can use DailyPlus with no account at all. In that mode nothing you enter leaves your phone. Nothing is kept online for you either, so a lost phone is a lost register.

If you make an account

• A copy is kept in a private store, and your shop’s rows can only be read from your own account.
• Photographs and documents are opened through a signed link that expires, not from a public address.
• Traffic between your phone and that store is encrypted while it travels.
• Inside your shop, four roles decide who sees what: owner, co-owner, manager and worker.

What we do not claim

We do not describe this as bank-grade or military-grade. Those words mean nothing, and they get quoted back after any incident.

No system anywhere can be promised to be perfectly secure. What we can do is name the measures above and keep them, and tell you if something goes wrong.

What you can do

• Keep a screen lock on your phone. An unlocked phone handed to somebody is outside anybody’s control.
• Make an account, so a lost phone is not a lost register.
• Take your own copy out from time to time and keep it somewhere you control.
• Take access away from anybody who has left the shop.
